Police have charged a 21-year-old man with drug and weapon offences following a traffic apprehension in Jingili on the weekend.

Senior Sergeant Kerry Hoskins, Officer in Charge of Casuarina Police Station said Police apprehended a Mitsubishi Magna travelling along McMillians Road at around 3:30pm on Saturday.

“Police conducted a search of the vehicle and located and seized knuckle dusters, a less than trafficable quantity of LSD, four MDMA pills, a less than trafficable quantity of cannabis seeds, trace amphetamine and a firecracker.

The man was arrested and charged with:

Possess lysergic acid

Possess methamphetamine

Possess cannabis seeds

Possess schedule 2 dangerous drug (MDMA)

Possess a prohibited weapon

Possess firework outside an approved period.

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 12 August 2014.
