A 27-year-old woman remains in Police custody and is assisting with enquiries following the death of a 27-year-old man in Tennant Creek last night.

Detective Acting Superintendent Lee Morgan said the alleged offender and victim are known to one another and were involved in an altercation at a residence in Tennant Creek at around 10pm.

“Police allege the offender stabbed the victim in the leg. The woman was arrested by Police a short time later.

“The man was taken to Tennant Creek Hospital, however he has since passed away.

“Detectives from the Major Crime Squad are travelling from Darwin today to assist with the investigation.”
