Police have seized 182grams of cannabis in a search on a vehicle earlier today.

Superintendent Brendan Muldoon said officers from Gapuwiyak conducted the search on the vehicle on at around 8am, seizing 182 grams of cannabis in 201 deal bags.

“Police estimate that if the cannabis was sold in the remote community it would have fetched up to $40,000.

Two people have been charged with the following offences;

Possess a schedule 2 drug – Trafficable  

Supply dangerous drug in community

The men were bailed and will appear in Gapuwiyak Court of Summary Jurisdiction on 5 August.
