Police have seized more than 12 kilograms of cannabis and a sum of cash following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Virginia.
Superintendent Clint Sims said members from the Drugs and Organised Crime Division conducted the search yesterday and seized cannabis, weapons and more than $60,000 cash
“Police estimate that if the cannabis had a wholesale value of around $180,000 and if was sold on the street it would have fetched around $500,000.
“A 44-year-old male was arrested and charged with
Receive property – Commission of Offences;
Supply cannabis;
Possess Cannabis – Commercial Quantity;
2 x possess firearm whilst unlicensed;
2 x possess unregistered firearm; and
Possess ammunition without a permit.
He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
“Police will continue to target the people dealing in these illicit substances. If you are involved in this business it is not be a matter of will Police come knocking but when will we come” Superintendent Sims said.
