Call for Witnesses – Assault – Darwin City

Serious Crime Detectives are investigating an assault which occurred inside a licensed premise on Mitchell Street overnight.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Karl Day said it is alleged the man was involved in an altercation at the bar of a venue opposite the Mitchell Centre.

“At approximately 12:30am this morning the 30-year-old victim was at the bar when an altercation occurred and he was struck to the head by an unknown male,” Detective A/Senior Sergeant Day said.

“The alleged offenders were seen leaving the establishment a short time later.

“Police and St John Ambulance members attended. The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital and has since been discharged.”

The offenders are described as:

  • A male of Caucasian appearance, tall with a solid build and short dark hair with facial stubble. At the time of the offence he was wearing a maroon short sleeved t-shirt, black knee length shorts and black shoes with white soles. He also appears to have a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.
  • A male of Caucasian appearance, short light brown or blonde hair, slight build and was seen wearing a black short sleeved t-shirt, denim knee length shorts and was wearing black and white shoes.

Police wish to speak to these two men and the three people they were seen socialising with.
