Call for Assistance - Robbery - Alice Springs

Police have arrested a 32-year-old male in Alice Springs last night in relation to the robbery of a taxi driver.

Senior Constable Gavin Hopwood said Police allege that three males were picked up by a taxi on Leichardt Terrace in Alice Springs at 9:15 pm on Tuesday 2nd December.

“They were driven to the Muk Muk Arts at East Side, at which point it is alleged they attacked the taxi driver, stole his wallet, yellow Nokia Lumia mobile phone, EFTPOS machine and some coins.

“One of the alleged offenders was arrested by Police after a foot chase at the scene.

“Police are looking for two males. One is described as of aboriginal appearance, has an Asian word or symbol tattoo on his right outer bicep area and another tattoo that covers the length of his right outer forearm. He was wearing a snap back style baseball cap with a gold sticker. He is described as being of a solid build and around 160 cm tall.

“The second male is described as of aboriginal appearance with facial hair and a slim build. He is around 162 cm tall and was wearing a baseball cap,” said Senior Constable Hopwood.
