A 29-year-old male has been charged following an aggravated assault in Imanpa last night.

Senior Constable Gavin Hopwood said the male allegedly assaulted his wife and two family members.

“The man allegedly caused damage to an abandoned vehicle, the clinic ambulance and attempted to set fire to a structure,” said Senior Constable Hopwood.

The male was charged with attempting to commit arson, four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of criminal damage, two counts of being armed with offensive weapon, breach of a DVO and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
