Police have arrested and charged a 23-year-old man in relation to numerous assaults in Alice Springs.

Detective Sergeant Jon Beer said the man was charged in relation to offences from March 2013 through to 2 January 2014.

“It is alleged the man assaulted a total of six people in four separate incidents during this time.

“This man has been a target of Strike Force Halberd for some time. It has been a great combined effort from the Strike Force working in conjunction with the community to locate and arrest this person.”

He has been charged with:

Unlawfully cause serious harm

Aggravated assault (x5)

Armed with an offensive weapon

Domestic Violence Orders served (x5)

Alcohol Protection Order (x2).

The 23-year-old was remanded in custody to appear in court today.
