Members from Strike Force Trident have charged a 16-year-old male allegedly involved in the ‘ram raid” of a supermarket in Moil.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the youth allegedly stole a white Mazda utility from a residence in Gray on 24 May which was used in Saturday’s “ram raid’.

“Police recovered the vehicle in Leanyer and arrested the youth yesterday.”

He has been charged with a number of offences including:

Stealing (x4)

Aggravated unlawful entry (x2)

Damage to property

Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle

Drive in a manner dangerous

Drive motor vehicle while unlicensed and breach of bail.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court on Friday, 12 July.
