Members from Strike Force Trident have charged a 22-year-old man in relation to the unlawful entry of a licensed premises in Darwin City.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the alleged offender unlawfully entered the venue on Mitchell Street at around 3:15am by smashing a glass door with a rock.

“Police allege the offender stole 10 bottles of assorted spirits and a bottle containing chillies. Police located the alleged offender sitting outside the premises.

“He was arrested and charged with stealing and aggravated unlawfully entering a building with intent to commit offence.”

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 10 July.
