Unlawful Entry – Call for Witnesses - Brinkin

Police

Serious Crime Squad Detectives are investigating an unlawful entry which occurred last night in a home in Brinkin.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said it is alleged four men in their early twenties were in the lounge room of their Omeo Street home when a man entered the house through a back door.

“At around 8pm the man allegedly entered the room armed with a metal pole and threatened the group,” Detective Senior Sergeant Board said.

“A 21-year-old male occupant immediately ran from the house and alerted neighbours.

“The offender allegedly struck a 20-year-old man to the head and torso before damaging nearby furniture.

“The man ran from the area and was witnessed jumping into the back of an awaiting vehicle, which was seen driving off along Rocklands Drive.

“Preliminary investigations indicate the offender may have known the residents of the home.”

The victim was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.

The alleged offender is described to be of Caucasian appearance, approximately 185 - 190cm tall, solid build and had an Australian accent.

The vehicle, being driven by another male, was described as a white utility with an aluminium tray.

Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or any suspicious behaviour in the area, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
