Members from Strike Force Trident have arrested a 14-year-old male and summonsed a 12- year old male for the alleged unlawful entry of a residence in Malak yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the youths unlawfully entered the residence and allegedly stole $3500 worth of electronic goods and a small amount of money.

“Strike Force Trident members patrolling the area observed a number of youths walking though parklands in Wulagi carrying backpacks.

“After a foot chase, Police apprehended the youths and recovered the alleged stolen property inside the bags.

“This is a great result with most of the property recovered and returned to the owners before it was even reported as stolen.”

The 14-year-old was arrested and remanded in custody. He has been charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent to commit offence, stealing and damage to property.

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court Friday 10 May.
