Police

Police have arrested a 44-year-old man in relation to an unlawful entry and stealing incident at a licensed premises in Berrimah early this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer from Strike Force Trident said Police received reports of multiple intruder alarms from the premises at around 1:30am today.

“Police located and arrested the alleged offender at a Berrimah service station a short time later. Police also recovered around $200 worth of stolen alcohol.

“This guy has been quite busy. We are charging him with two other identical incidents at the same establishment on the 6 and 10 of May. He’s obviously worked up quite a thirst.

“This is a great result, full credit to the uniform guys for catching him and some good work by Trident members to link him to two previous burglaries at this licensed premises.”

The man remains in Police custody and is expected to be charged later today.

He will be charged with stealing (x3), unlawful entry (x3) and criminal damage (x3) and will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on 15 May.
