Two Youths Charged - Alice Springs

Detectives from Strike Force Vega have charged two male youths following a series of unlawful entries in Alice Springs yesterday.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said two youths aged 13, along with three co-offenders, allegedly unlawfully entered four residences in Braitling and stole electronic devices, car keys, Avanti bicycles, alcohol and jewellery.

“The youths were arrested at Charles Creek a short time later, still in possession of some of the stolen property. Police have recovered stolen property including an iPad, three Avanti bicycles and alcohol, valued at over $4,000.”

The two youths have been charged with:

Unlawful entry (x4)

Stealing (x4)

Damage to property (x3)

Interfere with a motor vehicle.

“A 13-year-old was remanded in custody and will appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today. The other 13-year-old will appear in court on 15 November 2013.”

Enquiries are continuing to locate the co-offenders and outstanding stolen property.
