Two 15 year-old females are in custody in Tennant Creek after an armed robbery in Katherine.

Superintendent Craig Barrett said the youths were apprehended this afternoon following the theft at knife-point of a vehicle in Katherine yesterday evening.

“Police will allege the two youths were given a lift by a 64 year-old woman in Katherine before they turned on her with a knife and stole the vehicle.

“The two youths were arrested without incident after the Mazda hatchback was stopped by Police near the Tennant Creek speedway.”

Superintendent Barrett said the 64 year-old woman received minor injuries during the attack and the two youths were currently being interviewed by Police.
