Two Charged with Motor Vehicle Offences - Stuart Park

Members from Strike Force Trident have arrested a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old female in relation to the theft of $140,000 worth of vehicles.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the two offenders allegedly unlawfully entered a car dealership in Stuart Park and stole three utilities on 20 May.

“The offenders allegedly used the vehicles to ram open the gate. Two of the three vehicles were recovered in Fannie Bay and the third was recovered in Moulden. The total damage sustained to the vehicles was approximately $30,000.

“Police also allege the two offenders unlawfully entered a licensed premises in Stuart Park and stole a small amount of money and a 2 litre bottle of sprits on 20 May.”

The 21-year-old was arrested yesterday and charged with damage to property (x2), stealing (x2), aggravated enter building with intent to commit offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and trespass on enclosed premises.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court today.

The 16-year-old was charged with damage to property, trespass on enclosed premises and unlawful use of motor vehicle. She will appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court today.
