Two Arrested for Unlawful Entry - Alice Springs

Alice Spring Police have made a further two arrests in relation to a number of unlawful entries in East Side.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said Police arrested a 14-year-old male after he allegedly unlawfully entered a residence and stole a motor vehicle at around 9:00pm on January 6.

“Police located the alleged offender driving the stolen vehicle along the Stuart Highway a short time later. He has abandoned the vehicle and Police have apprehended the 14-year-old after a foot chase when he has than assaulted an Officer.

“He has been charged with aggravated unlawful entry and stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, assault and resisting Police. He was granted bail by the Magistrate and will appear in the Youth Justice Court on January 11.

“In a separate incident a 16-year-old male was arrested after he allegedly unlawfully entered a residence at East Side at around 12:30am today.

“He was also wanted for two outstanding warrants in relation to a series of unlawful entries and unlawful use of motor vehicles at East Side and Braitling.  He has been charged with stealing and aggravated unlawful entry and later remanded in custody.”
