Alice Springs Police arrested two people in separate incidents in Alice Springs on the weekend.
Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said a 28-year-old woman was arrested on Friday in the CBD, after a search was conducted, locating a quantity of drugs in her possession.
“Police then executed a search warrant at the woman’s accommodation, locating a quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.”
She was charged with:
Possess cannabis public place
Possess dangerous drug trafficable quantity
Supply methamphetamine.
“At around 3:00am Saturday, Police received reports that a man had entered a home on Burke Street and was chased out by the residents.
“Police attended and within a short time, arrested a 23-year-old male offender in a nearby alleyway, still in possession of a quantity of cash stolen from the residence.”
He was charged with:
Armed with an offensive weapon at night
Aggravated unlawful entry
Stealing.
Both alleged offenders are to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court at a later date.
“Police continue to take a zero tolerance approach to this kind of behaviour and will go above and beyond to see them put before the court,” Detective Superintendent Warren said.
