Strike Force Trident apprehend 6 juveniles for 83 offences

Strike Force Trident Members have charged and summonsed three males and three females aged between 12 and 14 for a combined 83 offences.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said Police from Strike Force Trident were investigating several property related offences in the Darwin and Casuarina area that occurred between the 12th and 14th of August.

“We identified several offenders by reviewing CCTV footage, information from General Duties Members, information from the general public and some old fashioned Police investigative work.

“As a result we have charged six juveniles with a total of 83 offences.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said the charges include:

2 x Aggravated unlawful entry of dwellings

4 x Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicles

4 x Stealing

1 x Assault

Several traffic related offences

“Strike Force Trident Members will be speaking to a number of other youths we allege were involved and expect further charges to be laid in the coming weeks.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said the public can assist by reporting crime to Police on 131 444 or contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

“All information received from members of the public does assist Police, even if the crime seems minor at the time it can help us put alleged offenders at the scene of other crimes that may have occurred in the same area around the same time.”

One of the 14 year-old males will appear in court today, the other five have received summons.
