Members from the Northern Investigation Section are investigating a stealing incident which occurred at a bank on Katherine Terrace this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Ian Kennon said the bank was unlawfully entered at around 12:30am.

“The unknown offender/s stole two bundles of cash that contained red dye packs. The red dye packs have activated soon after the offender/s exited the building and left with a small amount of money.

“Police urge members of the public to keep an eye out for anyone who has red staining to their body and clothing or anyone trying to use money stained with red dye. One of the offender/s involved may have also suffered an injury during the unlawful entry.

“Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the offender/s is urged to contact Police on 131 444.”
