Members from the Serious Crime Squad have arrested a 62-year-old man for allegedly stabbing a 45-year-old man.

Detective Senior Sergeant John Ginnane said the incident occurred out the front of Nightcliff Shopping Centre at around 2pm 1 April.

“The 45-year-old man suffered a single wound to the neck and was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.

“Police arrested the alleged offender a short time later and charged him with recklessly endanger serious harm, posses controlled weapon and aggravated assault. He will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court 30 April.”
