Police have charged a 22-year-old man in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a 21-year-old woman.

Officer in Charge of the Sex Crimes Squad, Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Karen Sanderson said the alleged incident occurred on 4 September in Darwin City.

He has been charged with:

Sexual intercourse without consent

Deprivation of liberty

Aggravated assault.

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 14 October.
