A 30-year-old man will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman.

Officer in Charge of the Sex Crimes Squad, Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Karen Sanderson said the offender allegedly sexually assaulted the victim at a residence in Driver yesterday.

Police located the offender a short time later and charged him with a number of offences including:

Deprivation of liberty (x2)

Engage in conduct that contravenes a DVO (x2)

Make threats to kill (x2)

Aggravated assault (x2)

Armed with offensive weapon (x2)

Sexual intercourse without consent

Stealing.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court this morning.
