Search Continues for Missing Plane Update #1

Police

Northern Territory Police have taken over co-ordination of the search for a light plane, missing since Monday afternoon.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority launched a search on Monday evening after reports a Cessna 210, carrying a family of four, failed to arrive at its destination south of Darwin.

It had left Bullo River Station but is believed to have struck bad weather around Anson Bay.

“Police have so far recovered the bodies of a male and two females.” Said Acting Commander Mark Christopher.

“The search for the last family member and the wreckage of the plane resumed at first light this morning.”

“Of course we’re hoping for a miracle but the reality is, hopes are fading of finding any survivors.”

“The search will continue throughout the day.” Said Acting Commander Mark Christopher.
