Police have charged two men in relation to robberies at two service stations in Katherine on Friday morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims from the Northern Investigation Section said two men aged 20 and 22 entered the service stations on Katherine Terrace minutes apart just before 6am and allegedly assaulted and threatened the console operators at each respective business.
“The offenders allegedly stole food items and cigarettes from the first service station and a sum of cash from the till of the second. They then fled the scene to a nearby park.”
Katherine Police arrested the pair only moments later and charged them with robbery in company (x2).
The men have been remanded to appear in Katherine Magistrates Court today.
