Robbery Arrest - Palmerston

Strike Force Trident Detectives have arrested a 20-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the robbery of a 31-year-old man in Palmerston on Wednesday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said it is alleged the man, in the company of two others, approached a man after he withdrew cash from an ATM.

“The victim was threatened with a knife and handed over a sum of money before all three offenders fled the scene,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

“Detectives located the 20-year-old alleged offender at a residence in Moulden today. He was found hiding underneath a mattress.

“He has been charged with aggravated robbery and breach of bail and will be remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on Monday 4 November 2013.”
