Police are calling for public assistance in relation to a male who escaped custody in Nhulunbuy early this morning.

Acting Commander Michael White said 18-year-old Eric Robertson escaped Police custody at around 1:15am today from Nhulunbuy Police Station.

“At the time of his arrest Mr Robertson was wearing a green hoodie, brown coloured pants, white Dunlop volley shoes and a black cap with red insignia.

“Police don’t consider Mr Robertson a threat to the public however residents are urged to lock their vehicles and homes.

“Anyone with information or anyone who may know the whereabouts of Mr Robertson are urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
