Police have recaptured a 23-year-old man who escaped lawful custody on Sunday morning at Royal Darwin Hospital.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board said Police apprehended the man at a residence in the Narrows at around 11:30pm yesterday. He has been summonsed for the offence of escape lawful custody.

“His bid for freedom lasted less than 24 hours with numerous Police units tasked throughout Sunday to locate the man.

“Police would like to thank members of the public who assisted Police in locating and arresting the offender.”
