Operation Zora

Police

More than 120 people were taken into protective custody and almost 150 litres of alcohol destroyed during a five day operation in Katherine.

Operation Zora was launched last Wednesday to tackle an increase in anti-social behaviour and public order offences in the township.

“The Operation targeted known hotspots around Katherine where people congregate and consume alcohol.” Said Superintendent Megan Rowe.

“As the statistics show, people are drinking at unacceptable dangerous levels and Police will continue to target those who offend.”
