Media Release - Increased access to Police at all hours - Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police are now more accessible to the public than ever before with the introduction of the 24 hour/7 day per week opening times at the Alice Springs Police Station.

Commander Kate Vanderlaan said the increased operating hours had been well received by the community.

“Having the front counter staffed  24/7 has enabled us to increase our service delivery, in line with Operational Excellence.

“With the Police Station doors always open, we are now in a position to centralise operations and maximise our service output.

The resourcing required to run the Police Beat Office will now be re-allocated to the all-hours Station.

“The amalgamation of these resources in a central front counter will provide greater support to our Police on the beat as well as to the community through the provision of personal access to Police in Alice Springs at anytime, day or night.

Located less than a kilometre from the 24/7 Alice Springs Police Station, the Police Beat will cease operation on 3rd May.
