Man Summonsed for Supplying Alcohol - Katherine

Police have arrested a 39-year-old male for selling alcohol in Katherine this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims said members of the Northern Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk were conducting patrols at around 8:30am and located two people drinking near Pearce Street.

“The pair, a 48-year-old male and a 43-year-old female, stated they gave a man a sum of money to purchase them wine,” Detective Senior Sergeant Sims said.

“Police attended a residence in Katherine South and located empty boxes of wine. The 39-year-old will appear in court to face charges of selling liquor without a licence.

“I urge anyone who may be aware of unlicensed grog sales in and around Katherine, or anyone who may witness suspicious activity, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
