Police

A 23-year-old man, who has been on the run since November 2011, is to appear in court today following his extradition from South Australia.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Matt Allen from the Serious Crime Squad said a joint operation between Detectives from the Northern Territory Police and South Australian Police traced the man to an address in Adelaide.

“He was arrested on Friday evening and extradited to Darwin at midday today,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Allen said.

“He is to face charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and stealing, which allegedly occurred in Darwin in September 2011.

“The male was listed on the 2013 National Top 20 Fugitives list as part of Operation Roam.“

Operation Roam is a national initiative targeting fugitives and is running through July and August. It is aimed at seeking community support to help Police in all Australian jurisdictions locate those who have committed crimes in our community.
