Detectives from the Sex Crimes Division have arrested and charged a man with 23 counts of Gross Indecency and 2 counts of Sexual Intercourse Without Consent.

The 64-year-old man was operating as a massage practitioner in the Darwin area when the offences were committed against female clients.  

“Offences of this nature are not acceptable and we will take all steps to ensure perpetrators of sexual assault are brought to justice," said Detective Sergeant Janelle Tonkin.

“Victims of sexual assault are urged to contact Police. Help is also available from a number of service providers, who offer counselling for anyone who may have experienced any form of sexual assault.  Police can assist with referrals of this nature.

The 64-year-old man has been remanded in custody to face court today.
