Man Arrested for Interfere with Motor Vehicle - Parap

Operation Trident members have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man for interfering with a motor vehicle in Parap.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said in October last year the man allegedly climbed an eight foot fence to a residence on MacKillop Street and smashed the window of parked Toyota Land Cruiser.

“It is alleged the man stole around $2,690 worth of property, and caused $3,880 worth of damage to the vehicle, before fleeing the area,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

"It is believed the man has been involved in a number of other property offences, for which he is already in custody.”

He has been charged with:

Trespass on enclosed property

Interfere with a motor vehicle

Damage property

Stealing

He is to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court 28 February 2013.
