Indecent Assault – Call for Witnesses – Alice Springs

Detectives from the Southern Investigations Division are investigating an indecent assault which occurred in Alice Springs early Sunday morning.

Detective Constable First Class Daniel Ralph said at around 3:00am an 18-year-old female was walking along the footpath on the river side of South Terrace, near Stephens Road Bridge, when she was approached by two Caucasian males.

“One of the males attempted to pull her dress down, before fleeing towards the river when approached by an oncoming vehicle,” Detective Constable First Class Ralph said.

Offender one is described to be in his late twenties to early thirties, thin build and approximately 180-185cm tall. At the time he was clean shaven with short dark brown hair and was wearing a light coloured short sleeve t-shirt.

The second offender was in his mid to late twenties, average to large build and approximately 165cm tall and has light coloured short hair.

Police urge anyone who may have information relating to the incident, or who may recognise either of the offenders, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
