Group Arrested for Unlawful Entries - Alyangula

Police

Three males are to appear in court next month following a number of unlawful entries in Alyangula earlier this week.

Senior Sergeant Tony Deutrom, Officer in Charge of Alyangula Police Station, said it is alleged four males were involved in the unlawfully entry of the Angurugu Store.

“It’s alleged four males aged 17, 18 and two aged 16, attended the Angurugu Store at around 4:30am on Sunday and forced their way into the building,” Senior Sergeant Deutrom said.

“They caused approximately $1,550 worth of damage and stole around $485 worth of clothing and food.

“Early Tuesday morning, the four are alleged to have unlawfully entered a home in Alyangula and stole a computer hard drive.

“It is alleged they then unlawfully entered a resort and the local recreation club and stole $1,175 worth of alcohol.

“It is believed the males consumed a quantity of the alcohol, and also supplied the rest to the community. A 37-year-old man was also arrested for his involvement in the distribution of the alcohol.

“Two males aged 17 and 16 are to appear in the Alyangula Court today. The remaining three have been bailed to appear in court February 20, 2013.

“Alyangula Police worked hard to see all five alleged offenders put before the courts. This again goes to show that we won’t stand for this type of behaviour in our community.”
