Four Youths Charged - Darwin

Detectives from Strike Force Trident have charged a further four male youths in relation to a crime spree in Darwin this week.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said two males aged 13 and two males aged 14 allegedly unlawfully entered three residences and stole thee vehicles on Monday morning.

“Police allege the youths also unlawfully entered two residences in Malak and Wulagi on Sunday 10 November and stole two vehicles from each property.

“Police have recovered around $43,600 of $72,900 worth of stolen property including a Toyota LandCruiser and a Toyota Hilux Dual cab on Sunday.

The four youths have been charged with a total of 55 property offences including:

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle

Unlawful entry of dwelling

Stealing

Trespass

Damage to property.

“Two of the youths have been remanded in custody and two have been bailed to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court tomorrow.

“A 37-year-old woman was also arrested at an Alawa residence for allegedly hiding an offender from Police. One of the 14-year-old males was found in the residence hiding under a bed.

“She has been charged with hinder Police and resist arrest and will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 4 December.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said this is a real great result. Strike Force Trident have caught eight offenders and charged them with a total of 115 offences in relation to five stolen vehicles, five house break-ins and other offences.
