Four Arrests Made - Operation Jinx – Tennant Creek

Police

As part of Operation Jinx, established to target property crime offending, Tennant Creek Police arrested four males following a number of unlawful entries which have occurred in the town since May.

Superintendent Craig Barrett of the Tennant Creek and Barkly Division said the Operation was established in May and is ongoing.

“Police located and arrested four males, aged 15, 17, 18 and 28 and allege they were involved in up to seven unlawful entries,” Superintendent Barrett said.

“A number of businesses and properties were unlawfully entered by these people, with thousands of dollars worth of property being stolen or damaged.”

Police located the males with some of the stolen items.

All the males have been charged with numerous offences including unlawful entry, stealing and criminal damage.

The 15-year-old youth was released to attend Tennant Creek Court on 24 June and the 17, 18 and 28-year-old were remanded in custody to attend Alice Springs Court today.

“This type of behaviour is unacceptable, Police will continue to target these types of alleged offenders and investigations are continuing.”
