Members from Strike Force Vega have arrested and charged a 17-year-old male with unlawful entry and stealing offences, after an iPad application led Police to his location.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said the alleged offender unlawfully entered a residence in Larapinta and stole an iPad, Samsung Tablet and a small amount of money at around 12pm yesterday.

“The owner activated the ‘Find My iPad’ application and alerted Police to the location of the device at a nearby residence.

“Due to the prompt actions of the owner, Strike Force Vega Members were able to locate the alleged offender and retrieve the stolen items.”

The youth was charged with unlawful entry, damage to property and stealing, he will appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court 15 March 2013.
