Northern Territory Police are currently in attendance of a fatal single vehicle rollover on the Stuart Highway.
A section of the Stuart Highway, approximately six kilometres south of Mataranka, is expected to be closed for the next several hours while investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
Superintendent Kylie Proctor said Police received the report of a crash shortly after 5:00 pm today.
“One person has died as a result of the crash and the three other occupants have been transported to Katherine Hospital for treatment.
“Investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing.”
This is the second fatal crash to occur on a Territory today. Earlier this morning, a 37-year-old man died after his vehicle crashed into a yard on Ludgate Street in Alice Springs.
This now takes the Territory road toll to five compared to six for the same period last year.
