Major Crash investigators have re-opened the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in the rural area in the early hours of this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant John Worrall of the Major Crash Investigation Section confirmed that the crash, at the intersection of Anglesea and Girraween Roads, has resulted in the death of the 38-year-old rider.

“The Major Crash investigation is continuing and the exact circumstances preceding the crash  are  yet to be determined, however early investigations indicate that excessive speed and alcohol are likely contributors to this tragedy,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Worrall said.   

This crash now brings the Territory road toll to ten, compared with 13 for the same time last year.
