Drug Enterprise Intercepted Katherine

Police

Detectives from the Northern Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk (NSAID) and Northern Investigation Section in Katherine have cracked a drug enterprise, arresting two males for supplying commercial quantities of cannabis.

Evidence gathered over the last three months has enabled Detectives to establish a pattern of offending, ultimately resulting in the successful apprehension of two males during a ‘drop off’ on the Stuart Highway, in the vicinity of the Katherine Rural College, yesterday.

“We will allege that the two males in question had established a joint criminal enterprise, transporting and supplying cannabis from South Australia to Katherine,” said Detective Sergeant Ken Bradshaw of the Northern Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk.

A 46-year-old Adelaide man and a 51-year-old Katherine man have been charged with Possess Commercial Quantity of Cannabis, Supply Commercial Quantity of Cannabis and Receive Property – Commission of Offence.

Both males have been remanded to appear in the Katherine Court of Summary Jurisdiction tomorrow.
