Drug Arrest - Nhulunbuy

Nhulunbuy Police with assistance from Drug and Organised Crime Detectives have arrested a 28 year-old man for the possession of methamphetamine and cannabis.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Schiller said the month long investigation had resulted in the seizure of 34.6 grams of methamphetamine, 23.9 grams of cannabis and a syringe containing an Amphetamine Type Substance (ATS).

“Drug dog Puma uncovered the haul during a search warrant at the residence of the alleged offender and the man was arrested following his return to Nhulunbuy.”

The man has been charged with possess a trafficable amount of methamphetamine and possess cannabis.  He was bailed to appear in the Nhulunbuy Magistrates Court at a later date.

Detective Senior Sergeant Schiller said the methamphetamine had a street value in excess of $35,000 and the seizure was a very good result for Nhulunbuy Police, the Drug and Organised Crime Squad and the Dog Operations Unit.
