Drowning Incident Darwin

Police

A two-year-old boy has passed away following a drowning incident in the rural area of Darwin yesterday morning.

Police and St John Ambulance crews were called to a residence in the rural area at around 10:15 am.

Attempts were made to revive the boy before Police and St John Ambulance arrived.

St John Ambulance transported the boy to the Royal Darwin Hospital under an emergency medical escort, but tragically, he died in hospital late last night.

Several intersections were controlled by Police during the escort, and Police would like to thank drivers for their patience and cooperation.

A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
