Northern Territory Police have attended Litchfield National Park after being notified of a drowning.
Territory Duty Superintendent Daniel Shean said the call came through at 3.30pm this afternoon.
“A tour guide has reported to Park Rangers that a 27 year-old male had failed to return to the tour group. His clothes were found nearby.
“Rangers have discovered the body of a man in the water and have immediately begun CPR.
“Clinic staff from Batchelor have arrived and taken over CPR but the man was unable to be revived.
“It was a very professional response from Rangers and Clinic staff and quite distressing for other members of the tour.”
Duty Superintendent Shean said investigations were underway and a report will be compiled for the coroner.
