Domestic Violence Offender arrested and drugs found - Darwin

Police

Members of the Drug and Organised Crime Division arrested an outstanding Domestic Violence and known drug offender this afternoon at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fuller said when Police approached the 35-year-old man, who they knew was wanted for Domestic Violence Matters, believe they disturbed him in the middle of an alleged drug deal. This has led to the arrest of a further three people, a man aged 27 and two women both aged 24.

“Police are still investigating the matter and have located and seized a trafficable quantity of an Amphetamine Type Substance, cannabis, MDMA (ecstasy) and a significant amount of cash. Two motor vehicles have also being seized at this time and may be subject to forfeiture applications in the future.

“During the arrests a 24-year-old woman reversed a car into an unmarked Police vehicle, she was subsequently found to be unlicensed.

“Police said all members of the Police Force will continue to target outstanding domestic violence offenders as part of Project Respect.”
