A 41-year-old male is to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court today, following a violent domestic incident which occurred in Palmerston on Saturday night.

Officer in Charge, Acting Senior Sergeant Karen Sanderson from the Sex Crimes Unit said it is alleged the man attended the 37-year-old victim’s home and assaulted her.

The alleged offender was arrested yesterday and charged with:

Sexual intercourse without consent
Deprivation of liberty
Aggravated assault
Threats to kill
Engage in conduct that contravenes DVO.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court today.
