Crystal Methamphetamine Seizure Darwin Airport

Drug and Organised Crime Detectives have arrested a 33 year-old man as he disembarked a flight from Melbourne in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police will allege the man was carrying 56 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of unused clip seal bags and cash when searched.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Schiller said the man had the drugs, bags and $850 cash in his bum-bag.

“We believe the drugs were to be sold in the Darwin area and based on current prices could have realised over $110,000.  This is a significant find by Police and we are very happy to have removed these drugs from our streets.”

The man was charged with possess schedule two dangerous drug, supply methamphetamine and using false Identification to obtain an air ticket.

He was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on April 2.
