Child Abuse Material Arrest - Darwin

Police

Detectives from the Online Child Exploitation Investigation Unit arrested a 40-year-old Darwin man last night after receiving information that he had purchased Child Abuse Material from an overseas website.

Police will allege that the man had ordered 6 DVDs containing Category 1 Child Abuse Material from the website.

"Anyone who purchases Child Abuse Material is supporting the ongoing abuse of children,” said Detective Senior Constable Corey Borton.

"Strong partnerships with federal and international law enforcement agencies ensure that people dealing in this disgusting material will be brought before the courts."

The man will face Darwin Magistrates court this morning.
