Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Kennon of the Serious Crime Squad said a 48-year-old male was walking along Trower Road near the intersection of Bell Street when the incident occurred.

“The male was approached by three men in a utility at around 2:00am, who threatened him with harm and demanded his wallet,” Detective Senior Sergeant Kennon said.

“The men fled the scene with the man’s wallet following a brief scuffle.

“I urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information relating to it, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

Police urge people to always be aware of their surroundings, especially when walking alone at night. Some things to remember are: Stay alert, keep to well lit areas, try and carry minimal items of values and if listening to music, keep the volume at a level so that you can still hear what is happening around you.
